The author is Doctor Hugh Cameron, a world famous orthopaedic surgeon, who for years was at the forefront of the development of artificial joints. He is a Professor at the University of Toronto in Surgery with previous cross appointments also in Pathology, Bioengineering and Graduate Studies. He was an Adjunct Professor of Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He has published more than two hundred scientific articles and two technical books, one entitled, The Technique of Total Hip Replacement.
Hugh Cameron is an orthopedic surgeon who lives and practices in Toronto, Canada. Edna Quammie is a nurse who moved from the USA to Canada. Ms. Quammie and Hugh Cameron met in Toronto General in 1972 and have been friends since then.
